What's New in the AWS SDK for Delphi
Release highlights and new capabilities.
Maintenance release
Fixes an initialisation issue with the assume-role credentials resolver and corrects a directory setup problem when installing for the 64-bit IDE.
SQS moves to JSON & SES v2 enhancements
The Simple Queue Service client now uses the modern JSON protocol. SES v2 adds support for the latest email features. Both services include breaking interface changes — refer to the documentation for the updated interfaces before upgrading.
RAD Studio 13 Florence support
Full support for RAD Studio 13 Florence, including the new 64-bit IDE. Also improves JSON serialization of TBytes as Base64 and adds deserialization of date-time lists.
Embarcadero Edition discontinued
With the launch of RAD Studio 13 Florence, the Embarcadero Edition of the AWS SDK for Delphi — previously available to RAD Studio Enterprise and Architect subscribers through GetIt — was discontinued and is no longer receiving updates. SSO & IAM Identity Center
Single sign-on credential resolution through AWS IAM Identity Center, plus new service clients for Identity Store and SSO-OIDC. Credential resolution is faster and endpoint options are now stored per service. Includes Delphi 11.x compatibility fixes.
AWS Account Management & service endpoints
Adds the AWS Account Management service client, support for service-specific endpoint configuration, and nested values in AWS config files. Includes S3 Content-MD5 header fixes and restored Delphi 11.x compatibility.
RAD Studio 12.3 64-bit IDE
Adds support for the RAD Studio 12.3 64-bit IDE.
Cognito Identity improvements
Exposes the IdentityId on the Cognito Identity client and fixes help-menu discovery in the IDE wizard.
IAM support & S3 copy operations
New AWS Identity & Access Management (IAM) service client. S3 now supports copying and renaming objects. The IDE wizard adds a help sub-menu. Fixes for credential handling and network exception reporting.
XML deserialization & credential fixes
Automatic XML response deserialization, credential resolution now only runs when needed, and fixes for null XML node handling.
Amazon Rekognition
Adds the Amazon Rekognition service client for machine-learning image analysis — detect labels, faces, and text in images. Also fixes pre-signed URL generation for non-GET requests.
General availability
The first commercially available release under the Appercept brand. Introduces offline license activation, signed Windows libraries, Appercept edition installers, and endpoint providers with IPv4/IPv6 dualstack resolution. S3 adds ListObjects, streaming downloads, and pre-signed URL improvements. Textract adds custom queries and Lending Analysis.
Earlier releases
The AWS SDK for Delphi has been in development since 2020. It was later distributed as the Embarcadero Edition through GetIt, growing over more than 20 releases to support S3, SQS, SES v2, SNS, STS, Polly, Textract, Translate, Transcribe, Cognito, KMS, Secrets Manager, and the IDE setup wizard.
